Diabetes Education

Our Diabetes Education class will teach you everything you need to know to self-manage your diabetes.

Our classes are taught by a registered dietician and a registered nurse.

There are five classes in our series, over a three month period. We have a new series starting once a month, and on going follow up classes. There are also regularly scheduled classes in Fortuna.

Classes are $95.00 each, and individual appointments are $85.00 per hour.

Medicare pays if you have met your deductible. Blue Cross HMO Plans pay. Blue Cross PPO and other private insurance plans may pay. You can call your insurance group and ask if it is covered on your plan. If you don't have a secondary insurance there may be a small copayment due. We are not yet providers for MediCal. We have sliding scale, and most MediCal clients qualify for our $10.00 fee per class.

Nutrition counseling

Our registered dietitian will meet with you and after taking a thorough history will design a nutrition care plan to meet your individual needs. We will help you focus on both dietary and health behaviors that will promote improved health.
